Polyps/Mushrooms

Polyps and mushrooms are very hardy and recommended for the beginner. Most do not require high lighting and will grow readily in the aquarium. There are several types of both polyps and mushrooms.

Polyps can be individual colonies, such as the yellow polyps, or the can grow out of a mat, such as the green star polyps.

Mushrooms come in a variety of colors and can be smooth, hairy, bumpy, frilly, striped, or spotted.

Both polyps and mushrooms require iodine additions in order to thrive. In good conditions they will multiply and spread.
